The Course In Miracles focuses on love for other people, and you can learn new things about yourself when you consider others.  Many people are so wrapped up in their daily lives that they don’t see the trials and tribulations of people around us. They don’t care that the woman to the left them may be experiencing a terrible night, or that the person on the other end of the mobile phone line could be frustrated with something. This is when A Course In Miracles can really help. A Course In Miracles guides you to stop and think about others before rushing to judgment and action. It gives you specific approaches for calming yourself down in the times you need it the most.

The important thing to know about ACIM is that you don’t need to be religious to grow from it. You could be on a self improvement path and not ready (nor willing) to commit to a single spiritual path. The Course In Miracles understands that this is a volatile time in religious culture. ACIM is primarily interested in counseling people on love and living more presently than converting others into a specific direction.  As the introduction to A Course In Miracles tells, it is just one of many approaches bringing us to the same place.  It also says that the course is not a choice. The only thing that is optional is when we follow it.

The author, Dr. Schucman, wrote the Course in Miracles Workbook, Teacher’s Manual, and Text after a visionary dream. She was convinced that these words came straight from the person of Jesus himself, her mouth only being the approach for delivery.

If you’re hunting for meaning in your life that makes sense, then give ACIM a try. Though it uses Christian phrasing, it is not religious by nature.  Besides, it might be exactly what you’re looking for in your moment of need.
